And all the characters had so much depth and were so different. Which made it look like Geralt is truly just caught up in the game of politics and is a simple witcher who just wants to navigate through the field with his head still on his shoulders. The characters and decisions were truly in grey area and there was no way to know everything only after one playthrough. The story however was tight, intricate and challenging even. Some of the W1 magic was lost, some things were improved. There was adventure, lots of detective work, puzzles, plenty of dialogue and intrigue and immersive atmosphere. The game felt like an point&click adventure game made into 3D game with freedom of movement. When I came across The Witcher 1, I was excited. Naturally I was looking for good stories in other genres as well.

Stuff like The Longest Journey, The Dig, Syberia or Broken Sword were and have remained my favourite games. Its why I gravitated to point&click adventure games as a kid. I always preffered games with good, absorbing stories.
